A minimalist poster I made for “The Big Lebowski” for fun.  It’s pretty huge so you should probably view it full size.

I’d like to start off by saying that I hate these things.  A lot.  Originally, it was a great 1939 poster.  In a time of turmoil, it was a great reminder that things keep going.  Now that we have the internet though, it’s just a reminder that no one has an idea of their own anymore.
It’s as if people get an idea and stop there.  “I like taking photos.” becomes “KEEP CALM AND TAKE PHOTOS.”  What does that even mean?
I made this because any time I search the typography tag, at least a half-dozen of these show up.  Center-aligned, bold, and caps-locked garbage.  There’s room for creativity within base of the design, but no one seems to take it there.
As far as the design goes, I had trouble deciding whether or not “original” should be colored or not.  I thought that maybe it would look like I just forgot to capitalize that part, which isn’t a bad assumption.
I also thought about changing the crown image, but I feel like that would distance it from the source material a bit too much.  Also, I couldn’t think of anything to replace it with.
